The celebration of the Sunday Liturgy is the most important activity of the
Church. It is in the Sunday Liturgy that the parish discovers its identity,
derives its mission, and is brought together and formed into a body united
in love for the service of God and the Church. Full and active participation
of the assembled people is the norm for liturgical celebration in singing
as in all other facets of the liturgy.
Singing is an essential and privileged element of the celebration. It is
such a preeminent way of enhancing the liturgy and heightening the
participation of the assembly.
St. Callistus parish is proud and grateful to have four wonderful choirs to
enhance the Sunday Liturgy. The members are very committed to their
singing and give time on a regular basis in rehearsing for the Sunday
celebration.
If you feel called to serve the Lord in the ministry of singing, please
contact the Director of the choir of your choice.

7:00 pm - 8:00 pm and regularly sings at the 10:00 mass on Sundays. Excited in their music ministry, they
willingly accept, as much as possible, requests/invitations to sing at special liturgical services of the church,
e.g., baptism, confirmation, anniversaries, children's liturgies, and love to bring their music to convalescent
and elderly homes during Christmas.
Young people ages 12-17 who can sing or want to sing, and/or play an instrument, may call Rosario D.
Rosete, Choir Director at (510) 223-1779.

Fil-Am Choir
The Fil-Am Choir of St. Callistus was conceived and formed in July 1983. It is composed of volunteer
church members with strong commitment to the Music Liturgy of St. Callistus. Rosario D. Rosete, the choir
director, is a graduate of the University of the Phillippines Conservatory of Music. The choir grew out of a
unison church choir to a versatile four-part choral ensemble. Varied in their choice of repertoire, the choir
has arranged its own concerts to benefit St. Callistus Church and has accepted invitations to sing at various
social functions, religious services and fund-raising events in the Bay Area. True to its mission of bringing
joy through music, the choir makes its round to convalescent homes and hospitals keeping the Phillippine
tradition of "Pamasko". They also go caroling during the Christmas season. The choir continues to seek
out those who can sing to join the Music Ministry of St. Callistus.
Rehearsals: 8:00 pm Friday in the church hall. Warm ups: 11:30 Sunday in the church hall. For more
information, contact Rosario D. Rosete, Director at (510) 223-1779.
