Youth Group
The St. Callistus Youth Group (SCYG) is open to all youth/teenagers from grade 7 to 12. SCYG involves itself
in many church activities, such as: Youth Choir, service at Mass, parish picnic, parish events and helping
other church groups.
In order to promote strong social ties in the community and among its members, the youth group involves
itself in sports, group activities, participation in diocese events, and amusement parks. To promote sharing,
various youth related topics are discussed reflecting on faith and ones relationship with God. Fund-raisers
such as car wash, bake sales, T-shirt sales, etc. are also undertaken to generate funds for the group.

Pre-Confirmation (one year program)
The Pre-Confirmation Program is for all young people interested in receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation
in the future. The program reviews basic elements of the Catholic Faith and provides a context of that faith in
today's world. The program consists of certain requirements, all of which need to be fulfilled before
consideration for entry into the final year of preparation for the Sacrament. The prospective candidates will
be informed of these requirements at the initial meeting. Subsequently, it is taken up with the individual
concerned to complete the necessary requirements before consideration for the Sacrament of Confirmation.

The Sacrament of Confirmation (one year program)
The Confirmation Program consists of an interview with the Pastor and Coordinators, regular class
meetings, retreat, and service hours to the Church. Candidates must also have received the Sacrament of
Baptism, Eucharist and Reconciliation and must have completed the Pre-Confirmation Program, and at
least in the 10th grade. Commitment to the program and its requirements are necessary.
